My office is closed this week, but I'll be here everyday for an hour or so to get the mail, answer emails and phone calls, and scrape together an emergency crew should something come up.

Yep, procrastinated since Thursday to catch up reports and submittables that have to be in by the 30th. This is a travel day for the rest of the crews, have an appointment with the oral surgeon tomorrow so I won't be heading back to the job site until then.

Yes. Or at least I'm going to try. Been down with a bad cold for over a week. One of those that drains your "giveadamn" level to a point so low you value life over money.

We'll start out looking for some section corners, then try to recreate a highway/railroad intersection despite the railroad having been abandoned for many years. The catch is that the highway was redesigned to curve this way and that so as to hit the tracks at a better angle. Those plans are far from perfect. In fact, one number is off by 20 feet.

No. Going to sit right here on my couch until my daughter gets out of bed. Then I am sure we will be back outside so she can ride her scooter she got for Christmas.

today?

No, not today. Courthouses and banks are closed, so I kinda operate the same way. I'm not too busy right now anyway, so I can wait a day or so.

I found out a "Band of Brothers" marathon started at 9am on Spike TV... so I'm kinda bolted to the comfy chair anyway...

Have a good one, Joe!

“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he's always doing both.”

I am available for my clients if they call.

Told my crew that there is work for them to do to set up several new projects if they want to work. Today they must of called a rainout cause they were expected but did not show.

This week I will write two sets of notes to finish one project. Travel to the tax office to pay that.

The rest of the time I will spend with family.

Working at home on two projects today.

First is an amendment to a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) I wrote. The owner wants the architect's site plan, the landscape architect's plan and my drainage plan to match plus the changes that required the amendment in the first place. The first thing I see on the landscape architect's plan is that she reduced the size of the septic system by a third of the size of the septic system that the Health Dept. issued a permit for and does not have the required distance between the leaching pools and the retaining wall around the system. Basicly she did not have the room for the planting beds and steps she wanted so she made the septic system smaller to get the room. To make things more interesting the permitted system has already been installed. In an email to the owner I told him my advice is to have his surveyor locate the septic system and house under construction so a retaining wall can designed that works for everyone.

Second project is a redesign of the filed subdivision we did three years ago. The developer wanted to go from a though road to a cul-de-sac. To help the Town accept the change the developer will donate two lots next to an open space to the town. This was a Limited Impact Development (LID) subdivision already but two lots to open space and about 800 feet less road will make it more so.

Just got in!

Finished up a large ranch boundary. Will stay up late tonight processing the info to determine whether or not I need to go back for anything tomorrow.

I think I am good, but had to field calc in a couple of tricky missing corners, so I am going to check those out before a well deserved cocktail.
