Phone numbers could be hazardous to your health
There are three phone numbers floating around that will get a potential client able to reach me. One is a number that was my home number beginning in 1980. Another is the land line from about 1995 that is still in use for primarily personal use. The third is my cell number that I’ve used as the business number since roughly 1997. Today’s call via the land line could have been hazardous to my health.
Mrs. Cow: Hello.
Amber: Hi, this is Amber just checking in to see what time you were planning to drop by to see me tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to finally meeting you.
Mrs. Cow: Miss, this is Mrs. Cow. Mr. Cow is out in the field working right now …………………………………
Keep this thought in mind when setting up a home-based business. You never quite know what the caller might say. Fortunately, Mrs. Cow figured out a long time ago to err on the side of caution no matter what the caller starts telling her.
BTW, I have still not met Amber. But, I’ve known her father since about 1963 when I was a fifth grader and he was an eighth grader. Her uncle, who currently has his name listed as owner of the property being surveyed, was my classmate for five years. This is property her grandmother had gained from her second husband (the first husband and father of her children died about 40 years ago). I had surveyed a different portion of the parent tract for the second husband over 25 years ago. I also surveyed a tract about 15 years ago for an adjoiner who had a long standing battle going with grandma’s second husband. Both the adjoiner and the second husband were born to make people grow to hate them for one reason or another. Both grandma and the second husband took up residence in cemeteries within the past year.
