Texas RPLS Stamp dimensions
I am ordering a new Texas RPLS stamp, and I was sent a proof that is slightly smaller than my original. I am 99.99% certain that there are specific requirements that spell out exactly what the dimensions shall be, but I can not find them on the new TBPELS webiste. Does anyone know where I can find the specifications for a Texas RPLS Stamp?
Thanks for the help,
When I ordered mine, I simply went to the local Business Supply Store and ordered the stamp. I did not worry about dimensions. But taking measurements, I find from "point" to opposite "point", I have 1.5-inches. From "flat" to opposite "flat", I have 1.4-inches. So an 8-sided polygon in a 0.75-inch radius circle.
Just my .02'
Good question. I see in Chapter 137 of the Texas Administrative code that an engineers seal can't exceed two inches but I am not able to find anything on the size of a surveyor's seal.
When I received my license I remember receiving a paper with my letter that was basically an example that I took to the local stamp store to have one made. I have never seen a dimension requirement in the rules. Which doesn’t surprise me with Texas as we tend to have rules with a lot of grey. LA on the other hand has 2 acceptable dimensions.
I'm thinking in 1990 when I got mine, it was required to be 2 inches which was larger than the stamp my boss at the time was using. I need another one so if you find anything, please post it here.
