Highest price Sunday 3/27/2022 at noon eastern time gets the transit and tripod. This is a Lietz transit number 7026, dated 1935(?). All the motions, horizontal and vertical, move smoothly. The compass needle moves freely. Tangent screws work correctly. Optics appear clear, no cracks. The damage is shown in one of the photographs, one of the vernier windows is cracked and the sunshade is missing. Objective lens sunshade is included but no other tools. Box has a large crack on the back. I do have the tripod which is in good shape. This transit/tripod does not use screw threads, there is a locking mechanism which functions properly.
I looked at the 1929 Lietz catalog and this transit appears to be a variation of an Engineers Transit #9.
