Back when we were youngsters it was recognized as attempting to avoid being part of the "normal" crowd if you let hair grow wild on and around your face. Some of us continue to embrace that pogonophile choice in our later years. Four for four in that photo.
New word of the day.
In my case it has nothing to do with style or culture. It is vastly more convenient to trim it every few days than to shave any day I go out, and it hides some of the ugly.

The 93 comes from the county number of my hometown, which number used to appear on car licence plates. I used the handle on line ages ago and kept it for the forum.
