Texas RPLS exam prep
Posted by cdiddy on May 14, 2020 at 3:03 pmI’ve started studying for the exam in October, but was looking for some additional study material, and insight on the RPLS exam in general. Does anyone have anything they can share?

Hi, Did you take the exam last week?
What did you think about it?
i took the October exam. Did you? I thought it was busy but doable. I passed and got my stamp yesterday. I havent sworn the oath yet so am not signing.
@thomas-mcintyre I was reading your posts from before you took the test. Just a few words in and your situation was very relatable. You mentioned wanting to know what the examiners want to see despite having other surveyors disagreeing in principle. You also mentioned how very important passing the exam was for you. I took over the surveying department at my office a year ago working under an RPLS that is gracious enough to let me do all the heavy lifting, and of course contingent on me becoming licensed. I am taking the exam for the first time this April 14, 2023. I cannot stress enough how frazzled I am about this exam. I have no choice; I have to pass. I have worked 6 or 7 analytical problems. I have stumbled and fell, but learned a whole lot along the way about what the examiners want to see you do. I am all worked up about how very easy these analytical problems can be, yet even easier to completely mess them up. I guess my question to you is how close to the vest did the examiners stay with the priority of calls? I, of course don’t want specifics, just your opinion on how the exam compared to your opinion of what they were going to ask was. Basically, do you think they kept true to holding witness trees over calc points, and how much weight did they give re-set corners?
