Too many fancy dancy words for this hick.  Had to look up the reference to having a license that is UNTRAMMELED.  Never heard of such a term.  I guess that means my license is trammeled.  Don't know who trammeled it.  I would bet this licensed employee would be the first and only employee having a license to do boundary surveying in California.

un·tram·meled
  1. not deprived of freedom of action or expression; not restricted or hampered.
    "a mind untrammeled by convention"

non-satellite-based

Does this mean no GNSS work allowed? Or does it have to do with satellite offices?

I mean, if you're based out of a particular office, by definition it's not a satellite, and therefore you are not satellite-based.

(Sorry, my inner pedant was feeling...untrammeled.)

I was approached by a recruiter from this group for a Rodman position.  I kindly declined and gave them a brief outlay of what survey people and job names generally refer to, and that a Rodman is usually the guy that's never worked in survey and the starting point in the career path...I got a pithy response and hollow thanks for the heads up ....I surely felt trammelled.

That's a hilarious description.   What a mouthful.   From what I can tell, they want a licensed surveyor to be somewhere between the project manager and the field crews?    I'd really love to know the salary range for this wonderful opportunity!

All joking aside your ad listing the job description reads like a short novel and little too much like a Dilbert cartoon.

BTW, a trammel is something like a street car.

If the ad for the job is ridiculous, then so will the working conditions be ridiculous.

A Photogrammetry/Lidar company?

Might be cool to work for, little if any liability.
