Sacramento County - Assistant Land Surveyor
$146K sounds low for CA, isn't the cost of living there one of the highest in the Nation?

Don't forget that there's another $5k in "other pay" and $48k in benefits. The latter no doubt includes an excellent health care plan and a generous pension. I would expect someone who retires at that level after 30 years of service can expect an annual pension income of $120k or more on top of a high-end Medicare supplement. Public pensions in CA may not be sustainable (the plan is seriously underfunded), but for the employees able to take advantage of them they're hard to beat.
