A day late and a dollar short
I always wanted one of these. Dad was pretty frugal. He did not ever put one into our tools pile. But, yesterday, at a tool/yard sale, I scored one!
I know, it’s been several generations of equipment ago. I’ll hang it on the wall. It’s a wonderful reminder of where we came from.
I think they are still useful in construction, or tight work. But, I finally have “one of those”.
Dad taught us to work hard, without reserving anything. Pretty Spartan on fancy gear. I wish dad were here to enjoy a day with me. But, if he were, he could not “relax and let it work”. He’d be digging holes, yelling “where are you”, or “leave a site (or is it sight) and come ahead”.
I finally have a chaining handle.
Maybe it needs a wall mount plaque. Along with a description of what it’s for.
So it does not get thrown out….
I paid a dollar for it. I gave her an extra dollar. She said “thanks, now I can buy a coke”. Made me feel good. Or, did I steal it? ????
