NGS Webinar August 11 2022 – M-PAGES processing software
Posted by rover83 on August 9, 2022 at 8:50 pmI’m really looking forward to hearing about the new version of PAGES:

These webinars are always nice to have during a rough/boring work week.

Thanks for sharing this I just signed up
Well? What did you think?
I thought they would be further along than they are.
My takeaway is that the new processing doesn’t improve GPS results much, but the multi-constellation capability gets to a chosen accuracy level faster. It doesn’t improve much over just GPS for long sessions.
.That’s pretty much what I took away as well.
I was multi-tasking, trying to help a crew in the field on my cell while listening, but one thing that did catch my eye was the mention of possible PPP capabilities, as opposed to baseline/vector processing, in the future. We do some work in areas where CORS are pretty sparse, and Trimbles RTX-PPP service has really helped us out.
Would be interested to see if they release the source code on GitHub like they did with adjust and HTDP…M-PAGES is no longer in FORTRAN so it might be easier to implement in third-party applications.
“…people will come to love their oppression, to adore the technologies that undo their capacities to think.” -Neil PostmanInteresting stuff. As the M-PAGES is being developed for multiple-constellation use, I did not expect much impact on GPS-only processing.
There shall be a follow-on webinar according to the presenter.
I did some screen captures during the presentation and include below those I found of interest.
Of course, the webinar will be posted to the NGS site in a week or so.
Enjoy,
DMM
Here is another slide of possible interest.
