Topcon Hiperlite problem. Any ideas?
My Topcon Hiper-lite+ base station has developed a problem. When I do my initial setup in the field, the data collector gives the message "unable to stop position stream." This prevents the data collector from communicating with the base and I am unable to use the RTK feature. The rover connects fine, but not the base.
The setup has been idle for a couple months, but I put them on charge every week or so.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
I really do not have any knowledge of this problem and the following is only a guess. Your base may need to collect ephemeris data and this might take as long as 45 minutes before it finally figures out "where it is in the world". I have encountered other problems when waiting for the ephemeris to update after an extended period of non use but never the message you are seeing.
Clear NVRam first.
Then swap the Base and Rover radio settings.
Possibly need to reset the NVRAM- there are internet instructions. Basically hold down 2 buttons until flashing fast then release. And then yes let it sit outside and collect ephemeris data- best to do it to both units.
Thanks to all the suggestions that enabled me to get the unit going again. I cleared the NVRAM in both units this morning and then set them outside for an hour. Seems to work fine now.
