I recently found this forum and am quite happy I did. I came to surveying a few years ago after retiring from the US Navy where I was helicopter mechanic. I was (still am at heart) an Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) on the H-53E, and H-60B/F/R/S platforms and did one I-level tour for anyone interested in navy jargon. After a few years of misdirection I found GIS and Surveying. After couple of years in school and some big moves, I find myself with a firm in central Texas. I have been learning daily for about 2.5 years and I'm studying to take the FS exam in a couple of months (TBPELS willing). I truly love this survey stuff.
How can you not love surveying?
Welcome to our little family. 🙂
Nothing wrong with GIS AND SURVEY as a respite from your perdition.
Welcome to the bunch! I just left central Texas for the rolling, windswept hills of South Dakota.
Welcome! My wife is a Navy brat and my son was a SAR schooled in Pensacola. You’ll like it here. 😎
