Intro plus questions and advice
Hello everybody,
I think I was a member here before because when I entered my user name as a new member, it said that name was already taken…very unlikely because of the name itself. Anyway I changed my password, etc. and still could not get in. So…I began a new account and here I am. My reason for joining again is because while trolling through one day, I saw a post looking for a free cogo program for students. I don’t see it anymore so guess that need was filled. I do have software that I developed a long time ago and used for my own business and eventually, at the insistence of my associates, sold through my home-made website and now doing the same through the reincarnation of the site but without the associates. I am 87 and retired for 26 years but still try to market the software. An order will even come pouring in once in a great while. I am willing to offer the program free for students. In fact, it has a free limited evaluation version not really suitable for meaningful work but still a good teacher for anyone learning cogo. I will have to find out whether or not I am allowed to offer it here or even mention the website. I would take the limitation away and let them use the paid version for free if asked by a certified survey instructor in a school. I would also like to have someone pass judgment on the program and my website since I have not kept up with the sophistication of the “big boys”. I can’t afford an SEO expert and like to think I can do it myself. I keep forgetting that I was a rear chainman for George Washington and that I used to memorize 8 place trig functions while calculating subdivisions before computers were around (true, except for the chainman part). A lot of longhand calcs for line-line, line-curve and curve-curve intersection problems taught me a lot of trig but glad I don’t have to do it that way anymore. Please advise.
