Another long-time surveyor gone
Ron Albertini left us a few days ago from complications of heart surgery. He was a good man and an even better surveyor. He will be missed in a variety of ways. There appears to be an error in the obituary as his military experience was during the Viet Nam era not the Korean War.

December 2, 1948 – October 17, 2021
KSLS Member, Ronald K. Albertini, 72, of Frontenac, Kansas, died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Kansas Medical Center, Andover, Kansas.
Mr. Albertini was born December 2, 1948 at Pittsburg, Kansas, the son of Henry and Wilma Meserko Albertini. Ronald was a Kansas Land Surveyor who had been resident of Arma most of his life. He was raised in Arma and graduated from Arma Grade School. He graduated from Arma High School in 1966. He later attended Kansas State Teachers College, now Pittsburg State University, in Pittsburg and graduated in 1970 with a Degree in Industrial Technology.
He served as Mayor of the City of Arma, was Crawford County Surveyor, and later City of Frontenac surveyor in 2006 and retired in 2019. He married Willa Ree Neace on May 8, 1971 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arma. Mrs. Albertini survives at the home. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arma and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac. He was a member of the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion in Arma and Kansas Society of Land Surveyors. He also served on the Crawford County Board of Mental Health. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Willa of the home, a son, Danny Albertini of Frontenac, a daughter, Heather Albertini of Frontenac, five grandchildren, Hana Coleman (Evan Stubblefield), Hope (KJ )Ruud, Miller Coleman, Mason Coleman, and Reed Coleman, and four sisters, Debbie (Kent) Noble of Pittsburg, Kathy (Paul) Smardo of Holland, Michigan, Becky (Bob) Beasley of Pittsburg, and Tami (Curt )Brumbaugh of Pittsburg. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Danny Joe Albertini.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas, with Father Larry Parker and Father Thomas Stroot officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Chapel, or at the family home, 502 E. Leighton, Frontenac, anytime on Wednesday. Mr. Albertini will be cremated following the services. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Frontenac. The family suggests memorial to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Fund.
