I have been backing up my job files by copying them onto a hard drive. I know that there is software to do automatically, what do you folks use and/or recommend?

IDrive. You can send it to the cloud and an external drive
friendly reminder: Backup is a copy. the cloud is "someone else's computer" that you can not control.
