Civil 3D Description export
Posted by thebionicman on May 19, 2017 at 6:23 pmHas anyone here waded through the ‘generallegalphrasings.xml’ enough to generate a useful description?
This is a great tool but setup is ridiculous…thebionicman replied 2 years, 6 months ago 7 Members · 10 Replies- 10 Replies
Yes, if you go to the Civil3d forums at Autodesk there is a very length discussion about this very issue. One of the posters went through the effort to clean up the reporting. All you need to do is replace a few files and it works great.https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-civil-3d-forum/general-legal-description-for-parcels/m-p/4308204#M207393 i think that is the link.

This is a great tool but setup is ridiculous…[/QUOTYou are a bad influence, I have spent my whole Saturday messing with that silly file.
I know this is a ghost thread…but does anyone have a current, useful, working version of GeneralLegalPhrasings.xml that works that they would want to share? Or tips on not having it put in (1) (2) or use concave (which no one will know what that means around here)?
-All thoughts my own, except my typos and when I am wrong.@dmyhill where do we find this? I??d be interested in it as well
My advice is buy LegalAid which is an addon, or do what I do and use the TBC version if you have TBC. The TBC is almost a carbon copy of LegalAid only it’s “free” with TBC. The C3D version is not as useful. LegalAid went to a yearly fee and I dropped them. The only part I don’t like is copying my poly lines from C3D into TBC.
The legal description writer function of C3d is something they threw in there so the salespeople can say that the software has that functionality. But it is so far from user-friendly that almost nobody uses it. It can barely be called a real thing.
@norman-oklahoma I think you just described the entire C3D package…
