The GRM10 modules have to be re-formatted after changing the battery.
I don’t know how to do it though…I did the same, change battery by myself and got information “BAD HEADER”. Then i found some guy from Poland who will change the two batteries and do re-formating for GRM10. He did a good job and both of my GRM10 worked great (for 7-8 years like he told me)
I think it was 80$ + shipping.
If you want i can send you his email-adress.German project for building your own GRM10 Rec-Module with USB Port and without Battery (see section 4. “
Nachbau der Speicherkarte”).
GRM10 Project-CAD-file for 3D printing your own module.
-Circuit diagram for Soldering Pro Micro ATMega32U4 Board.
-Online App (link “Zur ??pp”) for loading Firmware to Pro Micro and maybe also to reformat “REC ACCESS ERROR BAD HEADER / Error76” after changing battery on original Rec Module.:“The firmware will contain code to reactivate, i.e. format, “defective” GRM cards after a late or incorrect battery change. This requires 5 short contact springs and a website that has yet to be created. The data is gone, however; You should take care of a backup, at the latest before opening the housing to change the battery.”
Maybe it needs some improvements for use in the field under wet condition…
Did not test it on my own yet. If somebody got lucky maybe you can tell here.
Hi Mike
Looking to help out my father in-law with his issues with GRM10 Rec Modules. Is the Polish guy still active and fixing these? We need two modules fixed with new batteries and formatting.
Hope you can help us out./Tim
