Need a critique of my software
Hello again everyone,
A short time ago I posted about cogo software (QuickCogo) I had written a long time ago but am again offering through my re-incarnated website. However, for reasons I hope you will help me discover, nobody seems interested. In earlier years it sold reasonably well and received many compliments. With several hundred copies sold, there were only 2 returns, one of which was re-purchased. The program has not materially changed and maybe that’s the issue but I don’t think so. No doubt there are better ones out there and I can live with that but if there is some major flaw with mine or the website from which it is sold, I would very much like to know. I also send personalized emails to many land surveyors in various states telling them about the website and hoping they go there so I don’t have to rely upon random visitors but obviously I am still missing the mark. Incidentally, my google ranking is very low but I would need an unaffordable seo expert to help me there. I have done what I can from home but there needs to be fresh eyes and minds involved. Therefore I am asking for your help. Where could I find a more captive audience than a group of seasoned and knowledgeable land surveyors like you? I am not asking for you to fix any problems but only to point them out. There are 3 main things I would appreciate having someone do. 1. Go to the website, https://quickcogo.net download the evaluation version of the program (it is safe) and briefly check it out with the pretended intent you are looking for something for yourself. Is there something that would prevent you or others from wanting to purchase? 2. Check out the website to see if it is easily navigated, understood, has no broken links, etc. What is your general impression, keeping in mind it is home made? 3. Email me ([email protected]) and have me send to you the email I am sending to other surveyors and tell me your thoughts. (There are several I send but will only send the most recent to you)None of what I have written is a sales ploy and I am not trying to exploit surveyorconnect members. In fact, participants are welcome to have the full program free to help compensate for time spent.
I have made my own list of possible issues but want to see if others find any of the same. Be brutally honest in your assessment of the 3 items. Don’t worry about hurting my feelings. I really need your honest and candid appraisal so I can make informed decisions. Thank you very much in advance for your kind assistance. If you can help within the next 2 weeks, it would be much appreciated but please don’t put off anything of your own. My request can wait. I WISH YOU AND YOURS A VERY WONDERFUL AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON.
Please send replies to my email as non-participants here would not know the context of them. But use your own judgment or what Wendell thinks should be done.
Sincerely,
Jim Schuchert
