I am using Carlson Survey 2019 with embedded Autocad and fast fingers hit something and I can't seem to make it go away.  Whenever I click on an object, a small window pops up and makes me click on which definition of that object I would like to use for example, when I click on a point, I get the options of Block Reference, Point, Block Reference, Block Reference, ...  The top of the window is labeled selection.  If I just close the window, the grips from my selection go away.  It slows down my drafting considerably.  There must be a very simple way to make this window disappear but I haven't found it on my own yet.  Any ideas?

Tom,

You activated 'selection cycling' in AutoCAD.  When activated it lets you choose which item is selected when multiple features are present.  It can be quite handy at times and not so much at others.  The quick command to toggle the feature on/off is 'cntl-w'.  There is an icon on the status bar at that looks like 2 pages with a + sign that works as well.  I'm guessing that is what you hit.

Thank you John.  I think I probably nailed it with the "control w" accidentally.  My life is smooth again.

Same...I turn mine off because I would work in large drawing files and the autosave really slowed down my drafting. Not so many large drawings these days but old habits die hard.

I edited my alias to "S" (QSAVE) so I just hit that after every few commands unless I'm working with a surface. Then I hit "S" much more often.

Yay,

Thank you!  Didn't realize you could change that after I upgraded.

Way back in the day it operated like:  2 lines on top of each other, I could click the top one, and then window across both, and it would deselect the one previously selected, and select the bottom one.

Is there a toggle for that?
