AutoCad Previous versions
Posted by Yazeed on September 20, 2013 at 4:29 pmHi,
is it possible to buy previous versions of AutoCad (2012,2011)?
If yes, does any body know where or how?I tried to contact Autodesk, and they told they do not sell versions under 2013!
thanks

Autodesk doesn’t allow us to sell previous versions of there software. However, if you are on a current Subscription contract you can load and authorize three releases back. So if you purchased 2014 with Sub you can run 2011 and up. If you have any additional please let me know I can be reached at 480-719-4599.

Possibly you could locate some private party who has an older version and “rent” their property from them. But it wouldn’t be official as far as Autodesk is concerned, and you wouldn’t be able to upgrade it without the recognized licensees cooperation .how about if you bought out a business running the old CAD?
Wouldn’t you still need to register it for it to function? :-S
Watch eBay. Tonight I see some unopened versions of 2000i and AutoCad LT 97.

Sure. An owner of a software license can take it off one computer and put it another. If the new computer happens to be a computer you own, how would they know?> how about if you bought out a business running the old CAD?
That is a good reason to register your ACAD license to your business name rather than to your self personally. But it’s not likely to be an easy solution for Yazeed.Unopened versions of 97 and 2000?
Autodesk no longer supports those releases, so wouldn’t registering and getting an authorization number be a problem?
That was the point of my previous post. If you buy a copy from the previous owner and he still has the registration key, you might be ok.
Later versions register differently. I am not sure if Autodesk will now authorize unsupported versions of the software any longer.
