Is there such a thing as a Gurley Repair Manual?
Ebay item arrived yesterday; survey transit circa 1942. Needs cleaning, including cleaning the plates, but before trying this at home, does anybody have any sage advice?
Is there any sort of repair manual for Gurley transits of this era?

Or is the repair manual part of the users manual?
Last question: Is this reading of 221?ø47’20” correct for the image above? I can’t remember, but think it was about 1977 when we had to read the dinky vertical angle vernier mounted on the big HP distant meter to the minute. Haven’t done it since and never to 20″. It would be impossible to read without my cell phone!
Thank you all for your much appreciated help.
