I was getting claustrophobic in the great outdoors watching that. I thought only snowbelt snowdrifts could bring on that feeling.

Fairly common conditions for the PNW. Only by the time a stand of timber is ready for harvest the canopy has usually shaded out the underbrush for long enough to have it tamped down considerably.
