Kentucky State Line
I recently picked up a 1400 acre survey in Indiana. After getting the contract I found out my kin folks were the sellers, but that’s another story. The property is on the Ohio River. I was trying to figure out the proper way to determine the property line, which is the mean low water mark. While using the county GIS I noticed some nodes along the state line in the river that were called “State Line SPC”. I emailed the county surveyor to ask what that was about and he told me that there was a Supreme Court case in the 80’s that put coordinates on the state line.
I’d like to learn more about this, so if anyone knows anything, let me have it.
