Referencing an Assessor Map in my letter
I am referencing an assessors map in a letter I am preparing to a client (also an attorney). I want to use the assessor map to indicate the properties in the three deeds that I am referring to. My letter basically says “…there are no gaps, gores, or overlaps in the three deeds, see the attached to identify which deed goes with which property“. In this case it is much easier to refer to this than prepare a map of my own, and it will serve them better because they can see that it relates to what they are used to seeing (after years of trying to resolve a problem without a PLS).
I want to make a short statement, in my letter, that assessor maps is for the tax assessor, and shouldn’t be relied on for surveying needs. Don’t use its dimensions, don’t use its bearings. Anyone care to share a statement that they have used, or assist a fellow PLS with his “writers block”?
