Sokkia SDL1X level
Anyone have any experience with the Sokkia SDL1X digital level?

I have been using a Trimble Dini12 (and before that a Zeiss Dini12) for many years. Trimble has, to my knowledge, made no improvements at all since they acquired Zeiss/Geodimeter. They hardly ever even have it displayed, not even at Intergeo that I went to a few years ago.
While I do get very good results, there are always issues with shadows, times when it just won’t shoot, etc.
This Sokkia model is spec’d at a high accuracy (0.2 mm/km with their “super invar”, 0.3 mm/km for regular invar). It has autofocus, and very quick reading time. And bluetooth to connect to a data collector. I wonder if the BT data spec is released so that one could develop an app for an android? It also has a remote trigger device.
I spoke to a sales tech at Hayes Instrument, they have one near a job I will be doing next week, but I don’t know if I will have time to go see it (45 minutes away).
I have been hesitant to change, as I have 3 invar rods that of course are specific to Trimble, and a 0.5 m invar strip as well as standard fiberglass rods. But hopefully I could sell the level and rods together.
