I can confirm. He is a surveyor.

I’ve heard they taste like chicken.
I had a little tail in New Orleans years ago.
Also had some escargot in garlic butter sauce.
The gator was OK. Wouldn’t want to have it every week but once in awhile would be OK.
The rubber doggy chew toy with garlic butter is not recommended.

Florida Surveyors?
Good catch, Sir.
That surrveyor is anything but chicken!

Specifically Costco rotisserie chicken, but only the plump ones.
@nate-the-surveyor Swamp Tiger by the tail. Someone has been feeding him Twinkies and ham sandwiches.
Or apparently that bright!
They taste like dirt to me no matter how you cook ’em. And no Surveyor in FL in his right mind would grab a gator by the tail. ????

I had it once. It was at a trappers convention and to the best of my recollection it went good with beer. Not the rendezvous of old but still a pretty good time.
Gator is lot like Octopus, chewy. Was me I??d tenderize it with a meat mallet or simmer all day in gumbo. Had it deep fried in Florida and wasn??t bad but could??ve been better.
WillyEverything tastes good after a beer or 10. ????

“taste like dirt”
Alligator or catfish? ????
Gator and gumbo don’t mix.
alligator Sauce Piquante is the way to go.

@cordgrass I’ll have to give that one a go. Got to say I do love my gumbo. Big chunks of Alaska King crab, spot prawns, Andouille Sausage, okra, a good roux and a dash of gumbo file. Oh man, does that get the juices flowing.
WillyAlligator tastes like dirt; catfish tastes like mud…
I hope everyone has a great day; I know I will!
