I’ve surveyed in California, Oregon and Arizona (in that order). One thing I found during those experiences is that Oregon surveyors are much more prepared to work in rain — light or heavy.
In California and Arizona, everyone wanted to pack it up as soon as it started raining. In fact, I worked on crews in both of those states that used the “10 drop rule” — ten drops hit the windshield, it’s time to go home. If Oregon surveyors used this policy, they’d rarely ever get any work done!
